The short version

Use these Miami organizers as a starting point. Confirm the next date, audience, location and registration requirements directly.

Where to start in Miami

A Miami technology calendar can mix investor gatherings, product discussions, social events and recruiting. Read the host and purpose before registering. A crowded room is not automatically a useful room for your job search.

For South Florida more broadly, pay attention to geography. Miami, Miami Beach and other regional venues are not interchangeable when planning a working day or evening.

Refresh Miami

Refresh Miami publishes technology-ecosystem reporting, a community events calendar and startup job resources. Its calendar includes events from different hosts.

Best fit: Use it to find a relevant local group and learn about the businesses behind an event. Evaluate each listing independently rather than treating the calendar as one organizer's program.

Before registering: Check the actual host, audience, location and registration. A community listing may have its own approval process or price.

eMerge Americas

eMerge Americas runs a technology conference and expo with programming across areas including AI, health, finance and national security.

Best fit: Consider it when specific sessions or business topics justify the time and cost. It is not a general career fair, and a conference badge is not required to begin networking locally.

Before registering: Confirm the next edition and ticket inclusions on the registration page. The site can display material from more than one year; do not rely on an old headline date.

CareerSource South Florida

CareerSource South Florida links to job fairs, workshops, recruitment events and a Professional Placement Network calendar.

Best fit: A more direct place to start for employer recruiting or structured job-search support than a general technology reception.

Before registering: Check the particular calendar, service area and registration requirements. Confirm the roles and employers before treating an event as relevant to your search.

Plan your Miami networking

For a cross-border or multilingual business role, describe the actual work and markets you know. Do not assume every Miami event has an international focus or that language ability alone establishes fit for a role.

Start with a local session from Refresh Miami's calendar and compare it with a career-service event if you are actively applying. Consider a major conference only after identifying what you would do there beyond attending.

A conversation starter to adapt

I've supported customers across two markets and am exploring regional operations roles. Which decisions does a local team usually own, and which remain with headquarters?

Fictional example. Use it only if it reflects your work and the discussion.

Treat an investment announcement as a research lead, not proof of hiring. Look for an approved vacancy or ask a team member about the actual process.

After the event

  • Write down the actual subject you discussed and anything you promised to send.
  • Ask before sharing someone's contact details or requesting an introduction.
  • Follow up with context, not an unsolicited resume and a generic referral request.
